Misty is our first family cat, she was born on August 8th 2023. She was the smallest of the litter and had issues with her eye. This is her story.
Choosing Misty:
Me and my partner were looking at pictures of available kittens in the area after we helped a friend pick her kitten 3 months previously. Our friend told us in July that she knew a friend who had a litter of kittens. When she sent me the pictures I showed them to my partner who eventually gave in and said if we to have one he wanted the grey and white kitten. So I contacted the seller and was informed that yes she was available but she was the smallest and seller was concerned she may not make it to 8 weeks. During the following weeks, I received weekly updates on her progress and was able to meet her for the first time when she was 6 weeks. When she finally turned 8 weeks we were very excited to bring her home.
Misty first introductions:
When Misty arrived we took her to the vets for a health check. Apart from her size and her eye, she was healthy.
We found out that she had a genetic issue. The left part of her face was underdeveloped and her eyelid was rolling inwards, this caused her eyelashes to rub on her eye, the vet checked her vision and this was normal. As a temporary solution her eye lashes were plucked and we were given eye drops to protect the eye.
6 months old:
Misty has recently turned 6 months old. In the last few months she has been spayed, microchipped and her eye has temporary stitches to try and help open her eye. The vet checked the eye health and all is well. During this time she has been spoiled with lots of toys, cuddles and treats. She loves to play, chase her dad around the house and chase my feet. She likes to climb, look out the window, cuddle and car rides.
As time goes on we will update her website on her progress.
